**Water Conditions:** The ramp provides access to the Roanoke River's extensive 39-mile reservoir pool along 800 miles of wooded shoreline. As a major river system draining 9,393 square miles, the Roanoke has significant flow and current. Be aware that during periods of unusually low water levels, some boat ramps—including this one—may not extend fully into the water and could be temporarily closed. Check current conditions before visiting, especially during drought periods.
**Paddling & Boating:** This location is well-suited for motorboats, canoeists, and kayakers exploring the scenic reservoir.
