About This Access Site
Located on the northeast side of the 16-acre Schlecht-Thom Dam reservoir near Edgeley in LaMoure County, this boat ramp provides access to a small, shallow impoundment in southeast North Dakota. The reservoir averages 9 feet deep with a maximum depth of 24 feet, making it suitable for small recreational boats and paddlers. The surrounding landscape is part of the Prairie Pothole Region, offering a scenic grassland setting with nearby access to the Kulm Wetland Management District for additional recreation opportunities.

This access point is best suited for kayakers and canoeists, as well as small motorboats seeking a low-key paddling destination. Before visiting, check current lake levels to ensure the ramp is usable, as water levels can fluctuate seasonally. The site is primarily known for fishing (bluegill and northern pike), so expect a quiet, fishing-oriented atmosphere rather than high recreational traffic.
