School Section Lake is a 122-acre public access lake located in Westfield, Marquette County, offering a concrete boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp was recently upgraded from metal to concrete, improving safety and reducing maintenance issues. With a maximum depth of 8 feet and relatively low water clarity, this shallow lake is well-suited for paddling in calm conditions.
The lake supports a variety of fish species including panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike, making it popular with anglers. Paddlers should be prepared for shallow water conditions and may encounter motorboats. The area's proximity to the Ice Age National Scenic Trail offers opportunities to combine water recreation with hiking and exploring Wisconsin's glacial landscape. Access is available via the public boat landing in Westfield.
