Scotts Ford Access is the downstream terminus for paddling on this section of the Meramec River near Cuba, Missouri. The site features a concrete boat ramp on the left bank, making it convenient for launching and takeout. The area is open for public use from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, though boating activities are permitted 24 hours a day where allowed. To reach the access from Highway KK heading east, turn right onto Thurman Lake Road, which leads directly to the water.
This section of the Meramec River is popular with both paddlers and anglers. Upstream from Scotts Ford, trout fishing can be excellent, making this a good takeout point for float trips from higher access points. The river in this area tends to be clear and can run low during certain seasons. Paddlers should be aware of nearby features including Meramec Caverns and La Jolla Springs downstream, and overnight canoe camping is authorized in the adjacent state forest area.
