About This Access Site
This public boat ramp provides access to Sea Gull Lake, a large 3,958-acre lake in scenic Cook County, Minnesota. The ramp is located on the north side of the lake in West Cook and serves as a launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. With a maximum depth of 145 feet, the lake offers diverse paddling and boating opportunities across its expansive waters.

The access site includes basic facilities such as vault toilets and a swimming beach. This is a first-come, first-served public access area. Paddlers should note that Sea Gull Lake connects to backcountry campsites accessible only by boat or foot—if you're planning an overnight trip, the four designated campsites on Ham Lake feature fire grates, latrines, and picnic tables. Remember to treat or boil all water, hang food packs, and fully extinguish fires. For those seeking developed camping nearby, Trails End Campground is located within 10 miles and offers reservable sites.
