About This Access Site
Sea Rim State Park's boat ramp, located in the Marsh Unit near Sabine Pass, provides access to protected paddling trails through inland marshes and coastal waters along the Gulf of Mexico. The facility is wheelchair accessible and offers multiple paddling routes ranging from a 1.79-mile easy trail to a 9.59-mile advanced trail, making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels. The park also loans fishing gear and provides paddling tip sheets to visitors.

The park encompasses two distinct areas: the coastal Harrington Beach Unit along the Gulf of Mexico and the Marshlands Unit featuring the boat ramp and cabin. Paddlers should note that the Marsh Unit, including the boat ramp and all trails, closes periodically for hunting seasons (typically September 20-21). Swimming in the marshes is not recommended due to alligator presence. The site is situated near two important wildlife refuges—Texas Point and McFaddin National Wildlife Refuges—which offer scenic paddling through critical habitat for migratory waterfowl and other wildlife.

For more information or to confirm current conditions and seasonal closures, contact Sea Rim State Park at (409) 971-2559 or visit their location at 19335 South Highway 87, Sabine Pass, TX 77655.
