About This Access Site
The Seabrook launch is a convenient concrete boat ramp located where Leon C. Simon Drive and Hayne Boulevard meet Lakeshore Drive on Lake Pontchartrain's north shore. The two-lane ramp provides good access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with dedicated parking available beneath the nearby Seabrook bridge. This location serves as an ideal jumping-off point for exploring Lake Pontchartrain's expansive waters.

Paddlers should be aware that the Intracoastal Waterway flows into the lake beneath the Seabrook bridge and creates some of the area's strongest tidal currents, which can affect conditions near the launch. The site is known as a productive fishing area for trout and other species. A full-service marina nearby offers additional amenities including fuel, docks, and supplies if needed. The location also provides convenient access to two notable recreation areas: the nearby New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and the Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge, making it a good base for a day combining paddling with cultural or wildlife exploration.
