The South Boat Ramp at Kortes Dam provides improved access to Seminoe Reservoir, a 21-mile-long impoundment of the North Platte River in Carbon County. This facility features a paved boat ramp and parking area with comfort station amenities, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The ramp serves as an entry point to the main reservoir body, where the North Platte River and Medicine Bow River converge, offering paddlers access to a large water surface suitable for various skill levels.
Located 72 miles southwest of Casper and 38 miles north of Sinclair, the site is accessible via Carbon County Road 351 from I-80 or U.S. 220. Seminoe State Park manages the area and operates three boat ramps and three campgrounds in the region. Note that the downstream Kortes Reservoir below Seminoe Dam experiences frequent water surges from dam operations and has no boat ramp access. For expanded amenities including fuel, loading docks, and overnight trailer parking, the Seminoe Boat Club (membership-based or day passes available) is located nearby.
