Sepiessa Point Reservation

Sepiessa Point Reservation is a 164-acre public access point on Tisbury Great Pond in West Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard. This site is ideal for kayakers and canoeists and provides direct water access to the pond from a scenic natural area featuring wooded trails, grasslands, and restored savanna habitat. The narrow beach at Sepiessa Point is specifically suited for hand-launched paddle craft rather than motorized boats.

From Sepiessa Point, paddlers can reach Tisbury Great Pond Beach approximately 0.7 miles across the pond, which offers ocean swimming opportunities. Note that beach access may be seasonally restricted during shorebird nesting season; when closed, an alternative landing is available at Long Point Reservation (owned by The Trustees of Reservations), with signage at the trailhead indicating current conditions. The pond connects to other access points including Quansoo Preserve, located 0.5 miles across the water.
