About This Access Site
Sequoyah Bay Recreation Area offers a public boat ramp providing access to Fort Gibson Lake, a 19,100-acre reservoir on the Neosho River near Wagoner. The lake features an extensive 225-mile shoreline ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and recreational boating. On-site amenities include a marina with boat slips, gas, food service, and a fishing dock. This is a day-use facility and not reservable.

Fort Gibson Lake sits on the Neosho River (also called the Grand River), a major waterway with a drainage area of over 12,000 square miles and average flow of more than 10,500 cubic feet per second. The river's moderate gradient of 2.1 feet per mile and significant current make it suitable for various skill levels. With 12 access points around the lake, paddlers have flexibility for different routes and put-in/take-out options. Sequoyah Bay serves as one of the primary launch sites in the area.
