About This Access Site
Shakey Lakes Park offers excellent boat ramp access to Resort Lake, one of four interconnected lakes at this 240-acre facility located just one mile from Stephenson in Michigan's West Upper Peninsula. The park features ample boat ramps suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger recreational boats. Resort Lake and its sister lakes (East Lake, Baker Lake, and Bass Lake) provide calm water conditions ideal for paddling, with approximately 11,000 feet of waterfront access throughout the park.

This is a full-service recreation area with amenities including supervised swimming areas, nature trails, and fishing opportunities. A park entrance fee is required for day-use access. The park enforces a 10pm curfew, so plan your paddling accordingly. Given the park's popularity for multiple water sports including water skiing and jet skiing, paddlers should be aware of motorized boat traffic, particularly during peak season. The nearby Menominee River also offers additional paddling opportunities for those seeking moving water.
