Shawnee Trail Conservation Area in Mindenmines offers excellent access to over 82 acres of water across numerous ponds and lakes. This site features a handicap-accessible boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats, along with an accessible multipurpose dock and courtesy dock for easy launching and landing. The gravel parking lot provides convenient vehicle and trailer parking near the water.
Beyond paddling, the conservation area is well-developed for outdoor recreation. Anglers will appreciate nearby fishable lakes, including the 30-acre Ziske Lake and 17-acre Turner Lake, while the area also features primitive camping sites, picnic areas, a pavilion, and fishing jetties. Additional amenities include privies and an outdoor archery range.
