Shingle Landing

Shingle Landing is a public boat ramp operated by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission in Moyock, located on Shingle Landing Creek in Currituck County. This access point provides a convenient launch for paddlers and boaters heading onto Northwest River, which eventually connects to Currituck Sound. The facility includes a paved boat ramp, paved parking area, handicap-accessible parking, picnic area, and restrooms, making it a well-equipped option for a day trip.

The area is popular for fishing and offers opportunities to catch largemouth bass, white perch, striped bass, yellow perch, sunfish, catfish, and crappie. Paddlers can explore the creek and river system while enjoying the Atlantic Coastal Plain landscape. The location also provides proximity to the Dismal Swamp Canal and nearby Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge, offering opportunities for extended paddling trips along scenic waterways. The ramp is free and open 24 hours, making it accessible for early morning and evening outings.
