Shoal Creek Recreation Area Access #2

Shoal Bay Park offers a convenient boat ramp access point to the Arkansas River, a major waterway that flows over 1,200 miles across the state. The ramp is located within Shoal Bay Campground, which provides 82 total campsites, 62 with water and electricity.

The Arkansas River is a significant Class 10 stream, draining over 133,000 square miles with an average flow of over 51,000 cubic feet per second. Paddlers and boaters can expect moderately swift currents, with an average gradient of 7.9 feet per mile. The river's size and flow make it well-suited for a variety of watercraft, from kayaks and canoes to larger motorized boats.

Amenities at the Shoal Bay access site include the boat ramp, a playground, and hot showers for campers. The surrounding Dardanelle Lake provides over 40,000 acres of navigable waters, with 315 miles of shoreline for anglers, swimmers, and other recreationists.
