About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities:** The Sawbill Landing boat ramp is located at a no-fee US Forest Service campground on the southwest shore of Silver Island Lake, approximately 10 miles northeast of Isabella in Lake County, Minnesota. The access features a concrete boat ramp and dock in the middle of the eight-site campground, with three lakeside campsites available nearby.

**For Paddlers & Boaters:** Silver Island Lake is suitable for kayaks, canoes, and trailered boats, though the lake's size warrants cautious cruising rather than high-speed operation. From this access point, paddlers can reach three backcountry campsites on the lake, all managed as first-come, first-served sites by the Superior National Forest. Each backcountry site includes a fire grate, latrine, and may have a picnic table. Standard backcountry practices apply: hang food packs, fully extinguish fires before leaving, treat or boil all water, and wash dishes and yourself away from the water.
