Silver Lake

Silver Lake State Park offers a developed boat access point for paddlers and small watercraft in Rutland, Sargent County. The site features a dirt ramp suitable for car-top boats and canoes/kayaks, along with a parking lot and year-round comfort station. While this is not a traditional concrete boat ramp, the access is adequate for launching smaller vessels. The park provides picnic tables and scenic views of the lake, making it a convenient stop for a day outing.

The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature-based recreation. Silver Lake sits within the Jones River watershed, near the Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge and Wetland Management District—prime locations for observing waterfowl, shorebirds, and wading birds, especially during spring and fall migration.
