About This Access Site
The Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area South offers convenient boat access to the 350-acre Silver Lake in Decatur County, Georgia. This scenic lake is dominated by standing timber, providing excellent opportunities for anglers and wildlife viewing.

Two boat ramps allow motorized and non-motorized boats to easily launch and access the lake. The ramps are well-maintained, making them suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small trailered boats. Paddlers can explore the lake's serene coves and inlets, while powerboaters can take advantage of the open water.

The surrounding 9,200-acre wildlife management area is home to a diverse array of birds and other wildlife, including a significant population of red-cockaded woodpeckers and Bachman's sparrows.
