The Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area (South Shore/Sawpit) boat ramp provides easy access to the expansive Silverwood Lake for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The paved, multi-lane boat ramp allows launching of any size boat, with ample car and trailer parking nearby. The ramp leads directly into the lake, which covers over 980 acres and has a maximum depth of 200 feet. Boaters should be aware of the 35 mph speed limit on the lake.
The recreation area also features two designated swim beaches, four picnic areas (three of which are only accessible by boat), and nearly 100 miles of hiking trails. Anglers can fish in the lake, but must follow state regulations. Overall, the Silverwood Lake boat ramp offers a convenient launch point to explore this large, scenic reservoir in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.
