Located in Paradise, Ohio County, Skimmer Lake offers a public boat launch providing access to this 12-acre lake within the Peabody Wildlife Management Area. The ramp is suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats looking to explore a scenic Kentucky waterway. Parking is available in designated areas, but space is limited—avoid blocking gates or access roads.
The area is popular with anglers and wildlife enthusiasts. The lake and surrounding wetlands attract abundant waterfowl and waterfowl hunting activity. An additional boat ramp downstream provides access to the Pond River, which experiences a white bass run around early April. **Important note:** Hunters are prohibited from discharging firearms within 100 yards of the boat ramp, so plan your visit with hunting season in mind. Horseback riding is permitted on maintained roads only.
