About This Access Site
The Tower Road boat launch in Northfield provides convenient access to the scenic Skokie Lagoons, a 242-acre system of seven interconnected pools ideal for paddlers and recreational boaters. A concrete boat ramp accommodates trailered boats, canoes, and kayaks, with dedicated parking immediately south of Tower Road near I-94. The lagoons feature an average depth of 5.5 feet with maximum depths reaching 14.9 feet, offering safe paddling conditions for various skill levels.

Summer amenities at the adjacent rental facility include canoe and kayak rentals, motorboat rentals, live bait and tackle, and food and beverage concessions. This makes the site particularly accessible for visitors without their own equipment or those looking to explore the lagoons for the first time. The calm water conditions and moderate depths make the Skokie Lagoons an excellent destination for leisurely paddling, fishing, or family outings.
