SL5 Lake

SL5 Lake is a 12-acre public access point in the Peabody Wildlife Management Area near Drakesboro in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. The site features a public boat launch suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. This is a straightforward access point for paddlers looking to explore a smaller impoundment in western Kentucky.

**Practical Information:** Parking is limited and available only in designated areas and along maintained roads—be sure not to block gates or access roads. The site is part of an active wildlife management area, so be aware of hunting seasons and remember that firearms cannot be discharged within 100 yards of the boat ramp. Water access is possible from the launch, with additional boat-in access available from the Pond River. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife continues to work on improving access, signage, and facilities, so conditions may be evolving.
