Smalley Cove provides a public boat ramp for accessing Kerckhoff Reservoir in Madera County, California. This scenic mountain reservoir is a popular destination for kayaking, canoeing, and small motorized boats. The boat ramp is located on the north shore of the reservoir, making it a convenient launch point.
Boaters should note that motors greater than 5 horsepower are not permitted on the reservoir. A swim beach is nearby, but no lifeguards are on duty. The adjacent Smalley Cove Campground offers 5 tent-only campsites that may be reserved. Facilities at the campground are minimal, so paddlers should come prepared.
