The Smith Lake Park boat ramp provides access to the Sipsey Fork, a scenic river flowing into the larger Smith Lake reservoir. This site is located just downstream of the Highway 69 bridge, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.
The ramp itself is gravel and can accommodate both smaller watercraft and larger trailered boats. Two separate launch points are available - one to the northwest and one to the southwest. A nearby parking area offers ample space for vehicles and trailers.
The Sipsey Fork in this section is a medium-sized river, typically running clear and steady. Boaters should be aware of the dam downstream and plan their trips accordingly. This area is popular for fishing from boats, as access is limited to the water downstream of the Highway 69 bridge. Paddlers will find an enjoyable, scenic float through the Appalachian foothills surrounding Smith Lake.
