Snake River Park offers public boat access to the Snake River near American Falls in Power County. This is a developing access point on a major river system—the Snake is a powerful, high-volume waterway with an average flow of nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second and swift current. The river maintains a substantial gradient in this region, so paddlers should be prepared for moving water and respect the power of this large stream. A vault toilet is available year-round in the parking lot.
This section of the Snake River is known for boating and fishing opportunities. The nearby Snake River Vista Recreation Site and American Falls Reservoir provide additional recreation options in the area, while Pipeline Campground is located within 10 miles for overnight stays. Be aware that the current near boat ramps can be swift, and paddlers should watch for underwater hazards. Kayakers and canoeists should have appropriate experience for moving water conditions and ensure they launch only at designated boat access areas marked by BLM/USFS signage.
