Snaptail Lake

**Location & Facilities:** This small state-owned public access is located on the south shore of Snaptail Lake, 18 miles northeast of Grand Rapids, off County Highway 50 near Bovey. The access features an earthen boat ramp with parking for two vehicles—a modest facility suited for small to medium-sized watercraft.

**Lake Characteristics:** Snaptail Lake is a 146-acre lake with a maximum depth of 70 feet, offering good depth for boating and fishing. The lake is accessible year-round via this public launch point, making it a convenient destination for kayakers, canoeists, and small powerboat operators in the Itasca County area.

**Planning Your Visit:** As a state-owned access with limited parking (2 rigs), this site works best for small groups or solo paddlers. There are no launch fees at this location.
