Snowbank Lake offers a well-developed concrete boat ramp and dock facility located on the south end of the lake in Prairie Portage, Lake County. The access point is reached via Snowbank Road (approximately 4 miles from the main highway). This site features separate facilities for motorboats and canoes, with parking available for about 10 trailers at the boat ramp and approximately 30 vehicles at the dedicated canoe launch. A restroom facility is available on-site.
The southern portion of Snowbank Lake allows motorboats of any size and horsepower, making it accessible for a variety of watercraft. For paddlers and canoeists, this is one of the primary entry points to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), with a dedicated canoe access north of the main ramp. The lake is nestled within Superior National Forest and supports populations of northern pike, bass, and trout for anglers.
