About This Access Site
Snuffy's Landing is a 30-acre public park in Becker, Minnesota, offering boat launch and dock access to the Mississippi River. Located off County Road 8 on the river's east bank (814.3R), this landing provides a convenient put-in for paddlers and boaters exploring this section of the mighty Mississippi. The park also features recreational amenities including playground equipment. **Note: As of September 2024, the west end river access is closed to vehicle traffic; contact local authorities for current access details and any seasonal restrictions.**

The Mississippi River at this location is a major waterway (Stream Order 10) with substantial flow averaging over 685,000 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should expect moderate current with an average velocity of 11.24 feet per second and be prepared for the characteristic conditions of a large river system. The Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge is located approximately 50 miles northwest, offering additional exploration opportunities in the region.

Before launching, verify current access conditions and check water levels, as large river conditions can change seasonally. This landing is best suited for experienced paddlers and boaters comfortable navigating the main channel of the Mississippi River.
