Solomons Fishing Center

Solomons Fishing Center offers a well-developed public boat ramp with direct access to the Patuxent River near its confluence with the Chesapeake Bay. The facility features a fixed ramp and pier, four launching lanes, and courtesy docks to accommodate kayakers, canoeists, and larger vessels. The paved parking lot can accommodate approximately 75 boat trailers, with unload access at the water's edge. Basic amenities include restrooms (seasonal: April 1–November 1) and picnic tables.

**Practical Details:** There is no ramp fee for launching, though a parking fee applies to vehicles with trailer parking. The site is wheelchair accessible and located at 14195 Solomons Island Road South in Solomons, Calvert County. Paddlers should note that the ramp has undergone construction in recent years. For overnight trips, two nearby campgrounds are available within 10 miles: Pax River Paradise Grove Campgrounds and Pax River Hog Point Campgrounds (both reservable). The lower Patuxent River at this location offers protected water near the Chesapeake Bay, making it suitable for various paddling abilities and skill levels.
