Sophie Lake

Sophie Lake is a 218-acre public fishing access site located 8 miles northwest of Eureka in Lincoln County, Montana. The site features a gravel/lake bottom boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. Day-use only access includes a picnic area and latrine facilities. A dock is available from ice-off through October 30 for easier boarding and egress.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including bass, bluegill, northern pike, and rainbow trout, making it popular with anglers and recreational boaters alike. Note that weapons discharge is prohibited year-round at this site. For overnight camping, the nearby Swisher Lake Campground offers 4 basic sites with tables and fire rings located 0.42 miles away via non-motorized access road, though it's primarily geared toward horsemen and hikers.

Amenities include a vault toilet, hitching rack and easy access to the lake. The access road to the campground is 0.42 miles long and closed to all motorized traffic. This campground is popular with horsemen and hikers.
