About This Access Site
South Center Lake's public boat launch is located on the north side of the southwest bay and offers excellent facilities for paddlers and boaters. The access features a large parking lot with 48 trailer spaces (including 2 accessible spaces) and no launch fees. The ramp accommodates boats up to 12-18 feet, making it suitable for most recreational kayaks, canoes, and smaller powerboats.

This 835-acre lake in Chisago County is popular for recreation year-round, so expect moderate to high boat traffic during summer months. The lake's character includes both deep holes with sharp breaks (maximum depth of 109 feet) and extensive shallow flats with aquatic vegetation, offering varied paddling opportunities. The shoreline is heavily residential and developed, with an agricultural watershed. For trip planning assistance and current water condition information, contact the nearby St. Croix River Visitor Center at (715) 483-2274 (open mid-April through October, 10 am–5 pm daily).
