South Gulf Cove Park Public Boat Ramp

**Location & Access:** This boat ramp is located in Port Charlotte, Charlotte County, providing access to the South Gulf Cove Canal System. The facility features an automated gate system at the end of the docks (both canal and bay sides) operated by green and red buttons in a metal cabinet. **Important note:** A current Ramp Decal Sticker from the Port of Gulf Cove (POGC) is required and must be displayed on your trailer or boat before launching. The ramp is primarily available to residents who own or rent property in Gulf Cove.

**Paddling Opportunities:** The shallow bays surrounding this access point are ideal for kayakers and canoeists exploring calm, protected waters. The nearby Island Bay National Wildlife Refuge offers excellent paddling destinations, with shallow bays providing prime habitat for observing shorebirds, gulls, terns, and other coastal wildlife. This is a great launching point for wildlife viewing and leisurely paddling in the Gulf Cove canal system.
