The South Sauty Creek boat ramp provides access to the Tennessee River and Guntersville Lake in northern Alabama. This site is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.
The ramp is located off Alabama Highway 69, just north of the Sauta Cave National Wildlife Refuge. There are three stationary docks available, though no lighting or restroom facilities are present. The ramp can be reached by turning left onto County Road 67 after crossing over South Sauty Creek.
Guntersville Lake is a large reservoir on the Tennessee River, offering ample opportunities for recreational boating, fishing, and exploring the surrounding coves and tributaries. Paddlers can access the scenic South Sauty Creek from this launch, which flows into the lake. The creek and lake typically have calm, slow-moving waters, making them well-suited for beginner to intermediate level paddlers. Boaters should be aware of typical lake conditions, including potential wind and boat traffic.
