Located on the west entrance of Lake Manawa State Park in Council Bluffs, the South Shore Drive access provides convenient launch facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. To reach the ramp, enter the park via South Shore Drive and follow signs toward Catfish Road. The site offers a modern boat ramp suitable for various watercraft, with parking available throughout the park. For those launching sailboats, the facility also provides dry storage for approximately 110 vessels and wet-slip options.
Lake Manawa is a popular destination for recreational boating and fishing, welcoming motorboats of all sizes. Anglers frequently target crappies, bluegills, and catfish year-round. Beyond boating, the park features several miles of paved trails that connect to Council Bluffs' broader trail system, including access to the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge Trail and Wabash Trace Trail.
