About This Access Site
South Toledo Bend State Park offers convenient access to Toledo Bend Reservoir via a **two-lane paved boat ramp**, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. The ramp has a minimum usable water level of 167 msl. The park is located 8 miles west of Zwolle—take LA 482 west for 0.5 mile to LA 3229, then turn left and continue 6 miles to the end of the road. Parking is available for approximately 30 vehicles.

Beyond the boat ramp, the park offers additional amenities including a lighted, handicap-accessible fishing pier and scenic views. Toledo Bend Reservoir is known for its abundant freshwater fish populations, including largemouth bass, catfish, bream, and white perch, and the area is also a notable nesting ground for bald eagles. This makes the site an excellent choice for paddlers interested in wildlife viewing as well as fishing opportunities.
