Southside Drive

Located near Streetman in Freestone County, Southside Drive provides free public access to Richland Chambers Reservoir, a large impoundment offering calm-water paddling and boating opportunities. The ramp accommodates vehicles with boat trailers and provides parking for approximately 30 vehicles, making it suitable for groups of paddlers and boaters. This is an excellent access point for kayakers and canoeists seeking a relaxed paddling experience on the expansive reservoir.

To reach Southside Drive from Kerens, take Texas 309 south, then turn west on FM 1393 for 2.5 miles before heading south on FM 2859. Follow the road across the Chambers Creek arm bridge to the ramp. The area supports fishing and general recreation, and facilities include restrooms on-site. As with other public ramps on Richland Chambers Reservoir, there is no launch fee required, making this an accessible option for paddlers of all skill levels.
