Spectacle Pond is a 1,783-acre water body in Hancock County, Maine, offering a scenic paddling and boating destination. The town-maintained public boat ramp provides access via an unimproved gravel launch on the southwestern end of the pond, suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. To reach the site, take Quaker Meetinghouse Road to Pinkham Road and follow the dirt road to the access area.
The pond is fed by Bennett's Brook and an unnamed brook on its southwestern side, creating a quiet, scenic setting for paddling. Water exits the pond from the eastern wetland area via Gilson Brook, which connects to Forge Pond downstream. This 150-acre main water body provides good paddling opportunities, though paddlers should be prepared for the rutted conditions typical of a rustic town landing. The surrounding landscape offers natural scenery ideal for recreational boating and fishing.
