About This Access Site
Located at the intersection of Montana Highway 82 and Oldenburg Road in Bigfork, Sportsmans Bridge offers convenient public access to the Flathead River and Flathead Lake. The site features a concrete boat ramp with both high and low water options, making it usable across varying water conditions. The 18-acre facility includes 11 standard vehicle parking spaces and 39 truck/trailer parking stalls, accommodating trailers up to 30 feet in length. An ADA-accessible latrine is also available on-site.

This access point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters heading onto the Flathead River or paddling toward Flathead Lake. The dual-ramp system is particularly useful during seasonal water level fluctuations common to the region. The nearby Flathead National Forest provides additional recreational opportunities in the area, making this a gateway to exploring one of Montana's major river systems.
