Sprague Lake Wildlife Area offers a developed public boat launch on the southwest end of Sprague Lake, providing year-round access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility features a concrete single-lane ramp (20 feet wide) with five parking lots, including three ADA-accessible spaces, and one restroom facility. This is the primary public access point; two additional private launches operate at resorts on the southeast and northeast ends of the lake, though these charge day-use fees.
The launch provides access to Sprague Lake, a shallow wildlife area within the Columbia Plateau, as well as the Crab Creek system—a scenic 34-mile tributary of the Columbia River. Beyond boating, the site offers wildlife viewing opportunities through an interpretive trail and viewing platform, making it a good choice for paddlers seeking a quieter, multi-purpose outdoor experience. No camping is permitted at the access area itself. Access the ramp from the southwest side of the town of Sprague.
