Spring Lake State Water Access Site

**Location & Access**
Spring Lake's public access is located north of County Road 42 on Hillary Path in Duluth, a minimally-maintained road—travel at your own risk. This is a small, modest access point operated by the Minnesota DNR and part of the Spring Lake Park Reserve within the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.

**What to Expect**
Spring Lake is a shallow 592-acre lake with abundant snags and a maximum depth of 37 feet, making it best suited for kayaks, canoes, and small boats rather than larger vessels. The shallow conditions and submerged obstacles require careful navigation, especially for those unfamiliar with the lake. The access site itself is small and relatively basic.
