Spring Lake

Spring Lake is a 592-acre lake in Scott County near Jordan, offering public boat access through a small DNR-owned ramp located north of County Road 42 on Hillary Path (a minimally maintained road). The lake has a maximum depth of 37 feet and is situated within Spring Lake Park Reserve and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. This access point is best suited for kayaks, canoes, and smaller boats rather than larger watercraft.

**Important considerations:** Spring Lake is very shallow with abundant snags throughout, requiring careful navigation. The ramp itself is small and modest in facilities. Access via Hillary Path can be challenging, especially during wet conditions, so plan accordingly. Note that the Minnesota DNR recently completed maintenance and site improvements, though construction scheduling may have affected access availability during that period. Check current conditions before your visit, as this remote location may experience variable maintenance and access conditions.
