To reach the site, follow West Virginia Route 6 and turn north on Bailey Road (also marked as Road 4/3), where brown directional signs will guide you to the ramp.

The Little Kanawha River at this location flows freely through a historic lock structure (the dam remains intact, but the lock gates are no longer functional).
