About This Access Site
Located on the south shore of Eagle Valley Reservoir near Ursine in Lincoln County, this improved boat ramp offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The launch facility includes a paved ramp, dock, and temporary docking slips, making it suitable for various watercraft. The 65-acre reservoir provides a relatively calm water environment ideal for paddling, fishing, and water sports year-round.

The access site is part of Spring Valley State Park and situated adjacent to day-use picnic areas with nearby amenities including a fish cleaning station and two state-run campgrounds (Horsethief Gulch Campground accommodates RVs up to 35 feet). The surrounding area offers additional recreation opportunities including hiking in the nearby White Rock Range Wilderness Study Area and historic pioneer site exploration. Winter visitors should note that ice fishing becomes popular when conditions allow, though the lake's status during cold months may affect water access for paddlers.
