About This Access Site
Located just off Route 3 in Holderness, the Squam Lakes boat ramp provides convenient access to both Big Squam and Little Squam lakes via a short connecting channel. This well-established access point serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to explore the scenic 6,800-acre Squam Lake system. The ramp accommodates all watercraft types, including canoes, kayaks, sailboats, and powerboats, though speed limits are enforced in certain areas for safety. On-site amenities include a marina with rental options if you need to rent a boat, canoe, or kayak.

The lake offers several public-access islands and shoreline areas worth exploring, including Moon Island, Bowman Island, Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest, and Five Finger Point. Lake charts with navigation buoys are available for purchase during business hours and at local Holderness retailers. The setting provides excellent paddling opportunities with direct access to the scenic islands and shorelines that characterize this popular Lakes Region destination. Campton Campground is available within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip, and the nearby White Mountain National Forest offers additional recreation opportunities in the area.
