Squaw Lake

**Location & Access**
Squaw Lake is an 82-acre lake located in the Lac du Flambeau area of Oneida County, Wisconsin. The public boat launch provides access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. Note that there is limited turnaround space at the ramp—back from the upper turn area to launch or retrieve your vessel.

With a maximum depth of 44 feet, Squaw Lake offers good conditions for various water activities. The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, making it popular with anglers. The surrounding forested landscape provides scenic paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities typical of northern Wisconsin lakes.

Nearby hunting opportunities for big game, upland game birds, waterfowl and small game, exists across the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Fishing for trout or other game fish is available in any of the 600 available lakes or 1,200 miles of stream.

For hiking enthusiasts, 800 miles of trails are located throughout the north woods. For those that enjoy quiet places, the forest contains five designated Wilderness areas and several semi-primitive non-motorized areas. Motorized recreation is also available to the public, with approximately 300 miles of designated trail winding through the diverse landscape.Facilities
