About This Access Site
The St. Charles Bay Boat Launch is a public access point located on the Lamar Peninsula in Rockport, Texas, providing convenient entry to St. Charles Bay and the surrounding Gulf Coast waters. The facility features a small, paved 2-lane boat ramp situated on the east side of Lamar Beach Road, just south of Fourth Street. This location offers good access to all parts of the shallow, brackish St. Charles Bay—making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats.

To reach the ramp from the main highway, cross the bridge over Copano Bay and turn right on State Park Road 13. Continue straight toward the water (the road becomes Main Street), then follow Bay Street north along the waterfront to the boat launch. The bay is particularly popular for fishing, boating, and wildlife watching, with the shallow brackish water providing excellent opportunities for paddling and exploration. The Lamar Peninsula location also provides access to nearby fishing grounds and birding areas along the west side of St. Charles Bay.
