St. Helens Marina offers a public boat ramp at the north end of the facility, providing convenient access to the Columbia River near the historic St. Helens Old Town district. A privately-owned two-lane ramp at the downstream end of town also allows quick river access with parking available nearby. The marina itself supports vessels up to 80 feet and features a fuel dock (gasoline and diesel) open seven days a week. Be aware that the ramp can get busy during fishing season.
**Important navigation notes:** The channel into the Columbia River is tight and narrow, so exercise caution and stay alert for motorized boat traffic. Water depth ranges from 6-7 feet near the boat ramp to 3-4 feet within the channel, depending on tidal conditions—plan your launch and take-out accordingly. Grey Cliffs Waterfront Park, owned by the City of St. Helens, is directly adjacent to the marina ramp and offers a grassy area with picnic tables and beach access, making it a pleasant spot to prepare for your paddling trip.
The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is located nearby, offering additional paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities in the region.
