About This Access Site
The St. Marys River Boat Ramp, also known as the Blue Bridge Boat Ramp, provides convenient public access to the St. Marys River along the Georgia-Florida border. Located off U.S. Highway 17 just south of the St. Marys River bridge, this single-lane ramp is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats.

The St. Marys River is a tidal blackwater river originating in the Okefenokee Swamp and flowing approximately 130 miles to the Atlantic Ocean. The river is wide and slow-moving, making it a popular destination for paddlers and recreational boaters. Nearby Cumberland Island National Seashore offers camping permits for those looking to extend their St. Marys River adventure.

Driving directions to the boat ramp are straightforward: take Exit 3 west on GA Highway 40, then turn left (south) on U.S. Highway 17 for 3.9 miles. The ramp will be located on the left side of the highway before crossing the St. Marys River bridge. While facilities at the ramp are limited, it provides a convenient access point to explore this picturesque coastal river.
