St. Mays Lake in Pentwater offers a well-developed public access point with two boat ramps, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The facility includes 100 parking spaces and restrooms. **Important restriction: Only electric motors are permitted on the lake.** To reach the ramps from Route 5, follow Camp Saoma Road north; parking is also available on Old State House Road. A use fee applies.
In addition to the boat launch, the site features a sandy beach access point ideal for kayaks and canoes on the right side of the facility. The lake is surrounded by a 7.5-mile trail that circles the shoreline, providing excellent opportunities for exploration and fishing access. This makes St. Mays Lake a good choice for a full day of paddling, fishing, or relaxed boating in a scenic setting.
