Staples Lake

Staples Lake is a 340-acre public access lake located in Comstock, near the Barron-Polk County line in northwestern Wisconsin. The public boat landing provides access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. With a maximum depth of 17 feet, the lake is suitable for paddlers of various skill levels, though be aware that water clarity is very low, which may affect navigation and visibility.

The lake supports a healthy fishery with Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye, making it a popular destination for anglers as well as recreational paddlers. Before launching, paddlers should be prepared for shallow areas and limited underwater visibility. The site appears to be a basic public ramp with carry-in access, making it accessible for smaller watercraft.
