The State Park Road access point provides mid-lake access on the east side of Big Stone Lake, offering a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. This facility features a one-lane concrete ramp with an attached dock and paved parking area, making it suitable for various water craft. The ramp's mid-lake location provides easy access to both northern and southern portions of the 26-mile-long freshwater lake.
Big Stone Lake is a popular destination for fishing and paddling, with species including walleye, northern pike, bluegill, yellow perch, crappie, and largemouth bass. The park is located within Big Stone Lake State Park, just north of Ortonville in Big Stone County. Additional access points exist at Meadowbrook and Bonanza areas if you want to explore different sections of the lake. The approach via State Park Road is gravel and dirt with some gentle curves, so allow extra time if towing a larger boat or trailer.
